It's Freezing......

Goodness gracious it's COLD this week.....

Due to late arrivals and cancelled classes I haven't had much to do this week.  In a couple of weeks we are starting our spring benchmark, so I'll be super busy preparing for those! :)  This is what I live for and look forward to once I become a counselor.

Hopefully next week will be warmer!!

I Can't Wait to Be A Counselor!!!

Welcome to my first blog post!  My counseling practicum is going well!  I am a different type when it comes to counseling because I prefer the testing organization side of things over than counseling all day.  The good thing about this is that in the middle school level I'll be doing many many hours of testing preparation.  This job type fits my OCD extremely well!  Ha! 

Currently I've been doing a lot of organzing computer spreadsheets with special education information, which I love, and I've been holding LPAC's each six weeks on my monitor students.  I had a really great meeting last week.  I was holding my 3rd LPAC in a row on the same student, but this time a parent showed up!  She was very concerned in how to help her child become more successful!  I was able to help the parent/student/teacher by changing the child's schedule so that they would be more successful in that particular class.  I felt so accomplished that I attacked the problem and found a solution on my own.  The parent, teacher, and student were happy and I felt like a "real" counselor!!!  It was a great feeling to be on the other side of things!
